SuperPower: Being Responsive
The Power of starting small
You’re not running a company (yet)
You’re not making six- or seven-figure investments (yet)
And that’s okay.
Because right now, it’s not about the big moves—it’s about the small ones that set you up for them.
You can respond quickly. Even if you don’t know the answer, you can always respond with “Looking into it, will get back to you with answer as soon as I know”
Email, Slack, Texts. Be responsive. Email is still important and won’t go away for quite some time.
Don’t understand the question? Ask for clarification. “I don’t understand, can you clarify it for me?” is ok. Heck, I love people that say “I don’t know” in interviews, because then we get to have a conversation about how they would go about learning.
Got clarity and still don’t know how to get to the answer? Ask. Google search is so 2000’s, Perplexity is the way. Educate yourself on the topic. Research. Still can’t figure it out? Ask co-workers or the person asking the question for options about where to go to find the answer.
Early on in your career, these aren’t small things. They’re everything.
Master these now, and the rest? It’ll come. Keep showing up—big wins are built on small habits.
Until next time,
Magnus
